While we love walk-ins for smaller or simpler designs, we recommend making an appointment for larger or heavily customized pieces. Please note, deposits are non-refundable and required to make an appointment, with the amount varying by artist.

Tattoos and Piercings
How much does a tattoo cost?
The cost of your tattoo varies based on factors like size, placement, skin type, and color vs. black & grey. We can quote you a price upfront for smaller tattoos, but larger pieces are typically quoted based on the design.
How much do piercings cost?
Our basic piercings start at $30, dermal anchors at $70, and female genital piercings start at $90. We accept both cash and credit card payments. For a complete list of our piercing prices, please visit our pricing page: https://skyllatattoo.com/services/piercings/.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and all major credit cards. Sorry, but we don’t accept checks.
Age Restrictions and Parental Consent
How old do I need to be to get a tattoo or piercing? Do I need to bring a parent?
For tattoos, you must be at least 18 years old. For piercings, the age limit varies by type, and some piercings can be done on minors with parental consent. If you’re a minor, you’ll need to bring a few things: your parent or guardian, their ID, your birth certificate or guardianship papers, and your own picture ID.
Tattoo and Piercing Care
How do I care for my tattoo?
Your artist will provide specific care instructions, but some general guidelines include washing your tattoo with antibacterial soap, avoiding picking at scabs, and using fragrance-free products. Remember, your tattoo needs to breathe to heal, so avoid covering it unnecessarily.
How long does a tattoo take to heal?
While it generally takes about two weeks to “heal,” it can take a few months for the skin to fully regenerate.
Pain and Preparation
Do tattoos hurt?
Yes, tattoos do cause some pain, but your body adjusts to it after a while. The level of pain varies depending on the placement of the tattoo and your personal pain threshold.
How should I prepare for a tattoo appointment?
You should be well-rested, well-hydrated, and have eaten a good meal before your appointment. It’s also a good idea to bring a drink or snack, especially for longer sessions. Please avoid consuming alcohol or drugs before your session as they can negatively affect the tattooing process and your healing.
Artist Choice and Designs
Can I choose my artist?
Of course! We encourage you to check out our artists’ portfolios to see whose style resonates with your vision for your tattoo. Each of our artists has a unique style, and we want to ensure you’re matched with the right one for your piece.
Can I bring in my own design?
Absolutely! We love when clients bring in their own designs. Our artists will work with you to tweak the design if necessary to ensure it translates well to a tattoo.
What if I don’t have a design in mind?
No problem! Our skilled artists are happy to help you come up with a design. We’ll chat with you about your interests, style preferences, and the meanings you want your tattoo to convey. Then we’ll sketch a unique design just for you.
